Apps go places that sometimes the internet and phone do not reach. Often they are the very places you most need your apps – out in the field.
Unlike web-based apps, H-DAM apps store a complete copy of the relevant database on the device.
So it works, with full data access, whether there is a connection or not.
If you amend or create data while you are out of range, it sits in the device and is sent at next connection.
Individual copies of the database are updated every time the app is launched, if the device is in range. Only changed data is updated, so the update is generally only small amounts of data and is transferred quickly.
Users can control whether update information can use a cellular connection or just wireless internet and whether it can happen automatically.
